The Instruments
For those who are interested in this sort of thing-Here are the tools I use to create the music.
Taylor GC5-New in 2007. Mahogany back and sides, cedar top. This guitar is as clear as they get. Taylor ES system and ELIXIR Nanoweb light strings.
Larrivee C-05.  This guitar is tuned to DADGAD. The mahogany back and sides really bring out the drones in Celtic music. It's outfitted with a Highlander under saddle pickup and ELIXIR Nanoweb Medium strings.
Taylor Leo Kottke Signature Model 12 String. Perhaps the Holy Grail of 12 Strings Tuned down 1 1/2 steps from standard to C#. It growls and rings without the "jangly" sound of most 12's  It's outfitted with a Highlander under saddle pickup and D'Angelico 80/20 Medium strings.
Oscar Schmidt Centurion Autoharp- I don't know the age of the instrument. I bought it used from Maple Leaf Music in Brattleboro VT. to get the body. It was transformed from a 15 chord Chromatic harp to a 12 bar single key Diatonic. Chord Bars were made by Tom Fladmark.
McSpadden Mountain Dulcimer. Generally Tuned D A D D
Short Scale Bouzouki/Octave Mandolin. Hand-Made in Inverness Scotland by David Freshwater. Tuned GDAD http://www.freshwater-instruments.com/
